REFLECTIONS

The theme of this photographic study is “Reflections”.
The photographic artist tries to see, by means of what the water reflects, due to pollution, in a casual, extremely picturesque, distorted manner, as though reality is dissolving. It’s as though it wants to represent our dreams and our anxieties.

Dreaming means having a blurry vision, that is evanescent and hardly understandable, regarding the events in our lives, similar to the reflections photographed by the author.
We often find ourselves gazing into a pool of water or into the sea from the shore and according to its depth and transparency, we see the reflection of ourselves and our surroundings, undefined and mixed with an unusual oily alchemy.
It is this experience and these reflections which have inspired the photographer in the carrying out of this study, where, by setting the release and with the use of a telephoto lens, he has carefully tried to capture strange, abstract figures that become surreal pictures of great emotional impact, very similar to watercolour paintings, sometimes in pastel shades but often in strong tones, that express a state of agitation and anguish, which then brighten up to calmer and more tranquil images.
